State of the Art Dental Technology

We're Dental Visits for Cosmetic Dentistry and we invite you to see us in consultation. Our philosophy is that cosmetic dentistry must be performed with uncompromising attention to detail so that it is done correctly the first time. While we do accept many clients for corrective cosmetic dentistry of prior procedures, our primary focus is to ensure that our clients have safe, precisely executed cosmetic dentistry consistent with the highest standards of artistic and technical excellence.

We realize that for many of you the "trip to the dentist" doesn't Rank up there with life's happiest experiences. And for those of you who remember the bad old days of antiseptic waiting rooms and the never-ending whine of the - don't say it! - Dentist's drill, it's really hard to imagine what a different world awaits you here. We're committed to the goal of making your next dental health experience, stress-free, restful, and yes, even enjoyable.

The American Dental Association strongly recommends stress reduction techniques in the dental office, especially for patients with anxiety problems or known heart disease. But we've taken patient comfort and pampering to a whole new level. One of the most important services we offer our patients is massage therapy. Therapeutic massage not only helps you to relax and reduces your anxiety levels, but also provides many other important health benefits. It relaxes the nervous system, increases blood circulation and joint flexibility. The psychological benefits of massage can include an improved sense of well being, reduced stress and anxiety, and increased body awareness - all so important for overall health.

To help further ease anxieties of clients, we have created a soothing, peaceful atmosphere. Unlike the typical sterile feel and smell of most dental offices, our practice has tried to create an ambiance reminiscent of a fine upscale resort. The reception area is accented with comfortable furnishings, flowers, oil paintings, and a refreshment center with coffee, tea, bottled water, juice and cookies fresh-baked on site. This immediately tends to relax those clients anticipating a dental visit. Scented aromatherapy candles burn in various corners of many rooms. Instead of nurses in scrubs, cheerful dental concierges dressed in designer outfits greet clients by name. In the treatment areas, clients can have their teeth cleaned while receiving a warm paraffin hand-wax treatment, complete with heated mittens. Cosmetic dental treatments are performed in chairs which send soothing sound waves from your head to your toes. With a complete spectrum of relaxing comforts, from a warm neck pillow, cozy blanket, headphones to listen to your favorite CD, or escaping into a movie on one of our flat screen TVs, Dental Visits for Cosmetic Dentistry has it all.

The bottom line -- we not only want you to love your new smile, but to enjoy the process. Most important, our entire team wants to make sure you're comfortable at all times. As part of an ongoing commitment to our patients to help them achieve the ultimate smile, we have outfitted our office with some of the most state-of-the-art dental technology available. Very few dentists in the country have access to the type of high-tech equipment necessary to implement a true "Smile Makeover." The following are just some of the tools of the trade we use at Dental Visits Centers for Cosmetic Dentistry:

COMPUTER-CONTROLLED LOCAL ANESTHETIC DELIVERY SYSTEM

This innovative machine allows the dentist to deliver local anesthetic at precise pressure, that is custom controlled to each patient which results in a controlled, effective, and comfortable injection.

INTRA-ORAL CAMERA

This micro-mini camera takes up-close and personal photos of the back teeth and gums, which is projected on a TV screen, allowing patients to view exactly what the dentist sees - decay, cavities or receding gum lines. With this knowledge, patients can make educated decisions regarding their dental work.

COMPUTER IMAGING SYSTEM

One of our dental concierges utilizes special hardware and software to illustrate the potential end results of a complete Smile Makeover. Patients are invited to "try-on" their new smile before the smile makeover process begins.

LASER DETECTION SYSTEM

This laser aids in diagnosing hidden decay more quickly, comfortably, and accurately than traditional methods.

COMPUTERIZED PERIODONTAL EVALUATION SYSTEM

This tool allows for the standardization of measurements between operators in gum disease detection thus identifying periodontal disease and preventing early bone loss.

COMPUTERIZED BITE EVALUATION

This specialized machine allows the dentists to take much of the subjectivity out of traditional bite assessments. This system helps to reduce the risk of implant failures, traumatized teeth, unstable dentures, and porcelain fractures.

DIGITAL X-RAY SYSTEM

Allows for instant x-rays and reduces the patient's exposure to radiation as much as 90 percent.

MULTIMEDIA PATIENT EDUCATION SYSTEM

Helps us educate patients though multimedia of cosmetic and general dental topics.

DIGITAL X-RAY SYSTEM

Our dental digital X-ray system can take a picture of your teeth, then almost immediately show it to you on a computer monitor. You no longer have to sit there for fifteen minutes and wait for X-ray film to develop. Your on-screen picture will look like any typical dental X-ray image but much bigger. One of the advantages to having a digital x-ray is that it allows our dentists to zoom in on a single tooth, rotate it, sharpen it and colorize it - thereby giving them access to important information about how to create your smile makeover.

It operates much like a traditional x-ray system. We place a small, flat sensor in your mouth. The sensor is connected to a computer by a thin wire. Next, an X-ray beam is sent through your teeth and into the sensor, which records the image of your teeth and sends it to the computer. The sensor can then be repositioned to photograph other sections of your teeth.

There are a number of reasons why it’s better to use digital x-rays. Because the dental Digital X-ray system is more sensitive than dental X-ray film systems, your exposure to X rays is cut as much as 90 percent. The large and color-enhanced images let you see what your dentist sees, so it's easier for you to understand how your dentist will treat your teeth. It's also better for the environment because we don't create excess waste due to used photo chemicals and film.

COMPUTER-CONTROLLED LOCAL ANESTHETIC DELIVERY SYSTEM

At Dental Visits for Cosmetic Dentistry, the comfort of our patients is a priority. Since the hot is what many people fear the most, we utilize The Wand, a computer controlled local anesthetic delivery system. This product is designed to minimize anxiety by delivering an injection that many of our patients report to be painless. Now our patients can get comfortable in the precise area(s) they are to be treated. In fact in many cases, The Wand makes it possible to get the tooth numb without having the tongue, cheek, lips or face affected. Thus making it very easy to resume most of your normal activities promptly after your appointment. The Wand also makes obsolete the menacing looking syringe. The system consists of a sterile disposable hand piece component and a computer controlled anesthetic delivery unit. The hand piece has a light, pen-like handle that allows for pinpoint precision placement of the needle. The system is computer-controlled to automatically deliver local anesthetic at a precise pressure regardless of tissue density and resistance. This results in a comfortable, controlled, effective, and virtually pain-free injection even in the thickest gum tissues.

COMPUTERIZED PERIODONTAL EVALUATION SYSTEM

The constant force allows measurements to be standardized between operators. Treatment can begin in the earliest stages of disease, often preventing early bone loss and possible surgery. The system can record the main parameters of a periodontal exam, including recession, bleeding, suppuration, mobility and plaque assessment, pocket depth and furcation involvement. The pocket depth and bleeding sites are called out automatically by the user's choice of either a female voice or sound effects from the computer, not by the operator. The patient thereby hears the results from the computer and visually witnesses the exam on a color monitor with color-coded digital readouts - green, black and red - to identify the risk stages of disease. As such, the system is described as an excellent educational tool. The system also generates a four-page color printout of documentation to provide detailed records for insurance filing and patient records. Printouts are color-coded to indicate at risk pockets that are more than 3.2 mm in depth. Constant force and accuracy recorded in 0.2 mm increments makes the Florida Probe superior to other charting systems.

COMPUTERIZED PERIODONTAL EVALUATION SYSTEM

For many years, dentists have used such methods such as articulation paper, waxes, and pressure indicator paste to assess and balance the way your teeth bite together. The truth is that these types of bite evaluations, for the most part, were a matter of guesswork for dentists because most of these methods are not sensitive enough to detect simultaneous contact, and none measure both biting time and force. While some dentists continue to use the old methods, today there is another option. The T-Scan is a digital bite evaluation system that helps reduce the risk of: Implant failure; Traumatized teeth; Unstable dentures; Ineffective splints and Porcelain fractures. Our dentists are always concerned with complete accuracy that's why they utilize T-Scan's grid-based sensor technology for precise results.

LASER DETECTION SYSTEM CATCHES DECAY EARLY

You may have heard about DIAGNOdent, a new high tech laser system that we use to detect tooth decay in its earliest stages. Studies have shown, that as much as 50% of decay may go undetected by traditional dental probing and other diagnostic methods. The new DIAGNOdent aids in diagnosing hidden decay more accurately and confidently. While the attention given to DIAGNOdent is fairly recent, we are proud to say that we have been using this device for quite sometime now. Most decay occurs in the complex anatomy of the tooth surfaces, making diagnosis with traditional methods difficult, because the outer tooth surface often appears to be intact. The DIAGNOdent uses laser light of a defined wavelength to help detect and quantify demineralized tooth substances without x-ray exposure - the higher the amount of fluorescence detected by the machine, the greater the degree of decay within the tooth. Because the decay is detected earlier, the number of dental procedures - and hence, the cost - can often be reduced. It's a great way to keep little problems from becoming big problem.

MULTIMEDIA PATIENT EDUCATION: THE CASEY INTERACTIVE SYSTEM

Having a thorough understanding of the dental procedures we perform allows our patients to make informed decisions about their treatment. Our Casey Interactive System is state-of-the-art multimedia software that helps us educate patients in a clear, concise manner. It has a wide array of modules on a variety of cosmetic and general dental topics. We customize the modules that each patient views depending on their dental needs and interests. The Intra-oral camera, a diagnostic tool that displays areas of a patient's mouth on a high-resolution video monitor, combines with the Casey system to show the patient exactly how a procedure is to be performed. With our educational and diagnostic equipment, you'll always know what we're going to do, and why it's being done.
